Data Visualization with Tableau Wednesday, 16 September 9 AM – 11 AM (China)
In this workshop, you will learn how to:
- Understanding of basic principles of data visualization
- Tableau interface
- Importing data into Tableau
- Exploring data and types of data
- Creating tables, charts, scatter plots, histograms, etc.
- Creating interactive dashboards and stories
- Mapping data with Tableau

Getting Started with Python Pandas Thursday, 17 September 9 AM – 11 AM (China)
In this workshop, you will learn how to:
- Understand the building blocks of a Pandas dataframe
- Know how to make a dataframe and how to load it with data
- Filtering, selecting, and other common operations needed to focus on a subset of a dataframe
- Updating values
- Table joins and merges
- Exporting a dataframe to a saved file

Meet and network with the Stern, Economics, and SPS Librarians (from the NYC, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai campuses) in this fast and fun “getting to know you” event for NYU GoLocal and internationally-situated students. We’ll brief you on our resources/services and share tips for succeeding at NYU.
The first 30 minutes will be a presentation, followed by 30 minutes dedicated to answering your questions. Submit questions in advance to help us tailor the open house to your interests!
